Cain Sentenced to Confinement in Stabbing Death Case
SPC Tyler Cain's court-martial is now over. His charges stemmed from the stabbing death of SPC Morganne McBeth, his girlfriend, although he was not charged with her death itself.
The members adjudged a sentence of 45 days in confinement and reduction to E-1. It does not appear that Cain received a punitive discharge as part of the punishment. The sentence was in between those advocated in sentencing arguments, with the trial counsel arguing for a dishonorable discharge and 6 months of confinement and the defense counsel asking for hard labor without confinement.
